This role is wrapped around project accounting for the KYC transformation project.  Sits within the PMO but the resource doesn’t need knowledge of KYC or even financial services.  This resource will deal with tracking the invoices or the consultants/contractors; review contract and get SOW approved and follow the engagements accounting.  Detail orientated individual that will be tracking the project accounting in PPM/clarity.  This is not a junior level role and a “controller” type will be overkill. 
 
Missions
 Role to be played by the consultant/contractor:
  • PMO Senior Analyst reporting to the US KYC Program Manager
  • Primary responsibility for this assignment will be managing the project budget and related accounting processes, including, but not limited to:
    • Maintaining detailed resource plan by stream with input from various stakeholders (PMs, department managers, etc.)
    • Tracking actual expense, including for contractors, consultants, T&E and other incidentals
    • Processing invoices for contractors and consultants
      • Collecting activity reports in support of invoice processing
      • Calculating accruals for contractors and consulting expense and communicating to accounting department
      • Acknowledging receipt of consulting services in PeopleSoft Expense
    • Monthly refresh of monthly cost forecast including all classes of expense, as well as total Estimate at Completion (actuals + forecast) by stream
    • Monthly reporting to management including explanation of variances and cost drivers, as well as actions taken to conserve funds
    • Monthly reporting in global project management tool including resource forecasts, progress against milestones and project risks
  • The analyst will need to interact at a minimum with the following in performing their role: KYC management, project managers, accounting department, sourcing department, HR, and the PMO located in Paris which is responsible for controlling costs on the broader global program

Experience Needed:
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of accounting/project cost management experience
  • Minimum 2 years of project / program management
Desired / Plus:
  • Strong interest in project management
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience in financial services
Environment 
History of Project:  The Office of the COO, in addition to overseeing the Global Business Services (GBS) functions of Operations, Technology and Finance,  is in charge of assisting and monitoring SG USA business units in regards to critical processes such as:
  • Operational Risk Management
  • New Products Approval
  • Project Portfolio Management
  • Program management/PMO support for critical regional initiatives
Within the Office of the COO, the KYC Program Manager has responsibility for directing the US KYC Transformation Program.  This initiative, which is part of a larger Global KYC Transformation Program, has as it major objectives to improve and industrialize existing KYC processes, tools, policies and procedures for both on-boarding new clients and conducting reviews on existing clients.  The program will also look at training and HR aspects, as well as develop a target operating model in order to optimize the overall function.   This is a transversal initiative with participation from the Business Lines, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Risk Management, and Information departments.
