• The position is titled BI Engineer; however the manager has a need for someone with strong experience building BI Architecture in a modern way.
• This role will work on the “Win2Web” data platform modernization project, going from Microstrategy to Power BI
• HOT BUTTONS:
o Must have data warehouse modeling on SQL server
o Must have Big Data experience on Hadoop/Kafka (he doesn't want to teach this)
o Must have experience building BI Solutions in Microstrategy
o Must have working knowledge with integration, delivery, and back-end tools listed in jd
Summary: The BI engineer role participates on a delivery team through seamless, modern product delivery practices, tools, frameworks and contributes to crafting Quality of Service distributed systems within their team. This position serves as the subject matter expert for BI tools, analytical models, and operational tracking of business developed queries and dashboards.
A. KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
8+ years building/maintaining BI Solutions in PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, Microstrategy, or similar
5+ years Building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines in an enterprise setting
2+ years of experience containerizing applications; container orchestration
3+ years experience building and operating distributed systems
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MYSQL, Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, Cassandra, Red Gate, Azure
Experience building data pipelines and automating BigData platform application/services
Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
Experience in continuous integration tools (Git, Jenkins, TFS, Maven, Nexus)
